Name: Neutrinos: Ghostly Particles That Could Be the Key to the Universe
Date: October 17, 2017
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM CDT
Event Description:
Fermilab’s Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (Dune) is one of the world’s largest and most fascinating scientific investigations, and it’s happening in our own backyard. This mega-science experiment seeks to understand neutrinos. These tiny, nearly weightless particles were born at the dawn of the cosmos and may hold the key to fundamental questions about the universe. Join Northern Illinois University’s Mike Eads to explore the mysteries of neutrinos and see how NIU and DUNE are working together to understand this missing piece in modern-day particle physics.
