Event Description:
A family-oriented event for all ages. Run or Walk. It’s up to you! On Wednesday, July 4th, 2018, at 8 AM, Pokanoka’s Café will host the 6th Annual Pokanoka’s Trail Run/Walk at Shabbona Lake State Park. The Trail Run/Walk will be a fundraising event for Safe Passage, DeKalb County’s only Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault crisis center. The Trail Run will be approximately 8 miles long. The run will be along wooded trails and open prairie lands, as the runners circle around scenic Shabbona Lake. The Walk will be a circle loop thru approximately 1.8 miles of historic woods in Shabbona Lake State Park. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in the following 8 categories: Male, Female, 18 & Under, 19-34, 35-49 and 50 & over. Trail Walkers will leisurely walk the 1.8 miles at their own pace. Sign up fees: $30 for Runners and $15 for Walkers. To receive a T Shirt, Runners /Walkers must Pre-register by Wednesday, June 27th!!!! Registration: www.safepassagedv.org/events
Shabbona Lake State Park is located in Southern DeKalb County approximately 25 miles Southwest of DeKalb, Illinois. Shabbona Lake State Park 100 East Preserve Road, Shabbona, IL The address listed above will take you to the Shabbona Lake State Park main entrance. From there follow signs to Pokanoka’s Café.
