Overview:
Fox Valley Community Services is seeking a visionary and dynamic Executive Director to lead our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a passion for serving seniors and adults with disabilities, ensuring they have access to the resources needed to live vibrant, independent lives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies that align with FVCS's mission and vision. Provide inspired leadership and direction to all admins and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization.
  • Board Governance: Work with the board to fulfill the organization's mission. Communicate effectively with the board and provide timely and accurate information for the board to function properly and make informed decisions.
  • Financial Performance and Viability: Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization. Prepare and manage the budget, ensure maximum resource utilization, and maintain the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Organization Operations: Oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate. Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.
  • Community Relations: Act as a spokesperson for FVCS, representing the programs and services to agencies, organizations, and the general public. Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the state and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance FVCS's mission.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in a related field such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or similar.
  • Transparent and high-integrity leadership with at least 5 years of senior nonprofit management experience.
  • Ability to convey a vision of FVCS’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector.
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; travel from one location to another.
  • Travel may be required for this position.
